Halloween Costume Suggestions

In previous years, the most popular halloween costumes are the creepy ones like the devil, zombies, monsters, skeletons, vampires, wicked witches and so on.

Some choose to play as a horror film villain like Michael Myers, Jason Vorhees, Pennywise the Clown and the like. Add the fantasy villain - Captain Hook (pirate).

Others prefer to be a ghost-like creature as a white lady, some impersonate Sadako of "the Ring".

While in recent years, heroes and heroines were added to the halloween scene like Peter Pan, Batman, Superman, Spiderman, Wonderwoman etc.

Nowadays, little girls cameo as tinkerbell or a fairy while young boys love to play as Harry Potter.

As we have observed most of our halloween costumes were inspired from movies and television series. It is so rare that someone would show up wearing a unique and original halloween costume. It is so admirable for someone to be creative.

Instead of portraying a vampire with fangs, cape & blood why not play a good loving vampire in the character of Edward Cullen of Twilight. Twilight fever will be around for the coming years as the movie sequel is up until 2010-2011. So you can use some of the movie's famous characters.

To look like Edward Cullen, tossle and gel your hair upwards like you can see here in the picture. You should wear a gray coat/jacket on top of a dark blue polo/shirt, black pants and black shoes. Wearing golden brown eye contacts would be more like it. This look is good for teenage boys as well as those in their early adulthood.

For those who have black hair and are willing to have it cut in a chunky bob hairstyle, you can imitate the look of Ashley Greene as Alice Cullen. If not, you may wear a wig then wear a lacy, ruffled dress under a knitted top and black leggings. Or wear jeans and a ruffled blouse topped with a chaleco.

If you rather want to play a nomadic vampire, why not play Victoria (Rachel Lefevre). Victoria usually wear jeans and boots. She covers her top with a long feathery cape. if you don't have a cape, you may wear an all-black attire (i.e.black sleeveless top and black leggings..preferably leather if you have one. Victoria usually wears animal skin). Just curl your hair and leave it hanging. This is ideal for teenage girls and young women with blond or bright colored hair.

Some may cameo as one of the Volturi as long as you have a light skin. Just try to look formal and royal as possible.

Witches are often portrayed as wicked ones but if you have watched "Practical Magic, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Charmed",  you'll know that not all magical powers are used to harm people. You may wear a pure white Greek-like dress to portray the image.

Halloween is not all about horrifying things, it's about warding off evil spirits so why not choose a good character instead.
