Rejection and being Rejected

Rejection, who haven’t received rejection? Anyone? I haven’t known anyone who hasn’t been rejected or haven’t rejected anyone yet. It’s an inevitable part of life. If you haven’t experienced one yet, well, you’re just lucky for now. At some point in our lives, we have faced and will be facing it a few or several times.

Almost every move we make requires acceptance. In applying for a job or a visa, in asking for a date or a marriage proposal, loan requests or business proposal, whether we are at work, in school or at times even at home. People of all ages, regardless of their social standing and profession, we all receive the same devastating kind of rejection. The difference lies on how we handle it, we all have our different ways in responding to rejection. But just like any negative emotion, we have to process it positively.

Rejection somehow affects our self-esteem and takes us some time to regain it. Let’s just not stay feeling down there for too long. Let us not remain as a pathetic ex-boyfriend/ex-girlfriend who is still waiting and hoping to be loved again nor push oneself too hard on someone who don’t want you or doesn’t want you anymore. Oftentimes you have to treat yourself as valuable for others to see how valuable you are. Take rejection as a challenge and use this to better yourself.

If we have been denied of a chance or an opportunity to have what we want or be with whom we want right now, it doesn’t mean that we don’t deserved it. It can be that for now it’s not just the right time or that there are other or way better chances/opportunities opened for us. Sometimes a previous rejection can be a blessing in disguise cause you’ll never know what’s more in-store for you unless you start to rise up, move on and discover your whole wide horizon.
